Exeloume is a Norwegian death and thrash metal band from Trondheim that was founded in 2007.
history
The band was founded in 2007 by guitarist Tom "Welhaven" Wahl. At the end of 2008 the recordings for the first demo The Longest Shadow began , which ended in October 2009. After the demo was released in the same year, the next demo, Fairytale of Perversion , followed in early 2010 . The debut album of the same name was recorded in summer and autumn 2010 with producer Rune Stanesli and mixed and mastered by Dan Swanö . Swanö and Andy LaRoque ( King Diamond ) were also represented as guest musicians. The cover was designed by Ed Repka . In February 2011 the band signed a contract with the Swedish label Vici Solum Productions as the first non-Swedish band. The album was released on Friday, May 13th, 2011. In 2013 the EP Return of the Nephilim was released , the cover of which was again designed by Ed Repka. In addition to Dan Swanö, Thormodr Trygvason was technically active for the band, who mixed and produced the album.
style
In an interview with Dirk Zimmermann from Legacy , the guitarist Wahl stated that he was mainly influenced by Thrash Metal from 1983 to 1988 and Death Metal from 1988 to 1991. By adding the influences of the other musicians, the music of Exeloume results. In his review of the debut album, Walter Scheurer from metal.de wrote that the band played a mixture of Thrash Metal and Swedish Death Metal. The group combine thrash metal riffs with death metal groove .
