The Expert SE (self spelling: expert ) is a specialized trade cooperation for consumer electronics , information technology, telecommunications, entertainment and electronic household appliances based in Langenhagen . As a German national company, Expert SE is an independent part of Expert International .
history
The Expert Group was founded on June 1, 1962 as the trading company Bild + Ton in Hanover. In 1967, the German company Bild + Ton and purchasing associations from Sweden, Denmark, Finland, the Netherlands and Switzerland founded the Euroexpert Group Intercop GmbH , Expert International since 1971 , with headquarters in Zurich. All six national organizations agreed on a uniform corporate identity with the name expert and a star symbolizing the X in the name. In 2013, 18 branches of the electronics retailer ProMarkt were taken over by the Rewe Group and integrated into the Expert Group. With effect from February 14, 2017, expert AG transformed into a European company and has been operating as expert SE ever since .

Expert SE currently consists of 211 Expert shareholders and members with a total of 410 locations in Germany. The total sales area of the cooperation is 445,000 m². The members are also shareholders of Expert SE.

- Expert Warenvertrieb GmbH , based in Hanover-Langenhagen, includes management with 478 employees in the head office as well as the operator of a central warehouse with a total of 40,000 m² of storage space, from which 45 percent of the items for the branches are supplied.

- Expert ARFA Kommunikationgeräte GmbH for the field of mobile communications, data communication, car hi-fi and navigation in cooperation with independent dealers,
- Expert Technik AG & Co. KG , today Expert Technik SE & Co. KG , founded in 1981 through the merger of large electrical installers for high-voltage and security technology, automation, photovoltaics, heating, air conditioning and ventilation technology and sanitary.
- Expert e-Commerce GmbH - founded in 2011 - for internet business and online presence.
- Expert Handels GmbH , founded in 2000 and operator of 18 full-range specialist markets with sales areas of around 1500 m². In total, expert Handels GmbH employs over 450 people, including over 100 trainees.
- Expert Octomedia GmbH , founded in April 2011 by taking over the specialist stores of Octomedia & Co. KG in Rastatt, Bühl, Lahr and Waldshut-Tiengen with currently around 250 employees (including around 40 trainees).
- Expert Handels GmbH Süd-West & Co. KG , based in Langenhagen, was founded in 2013 through the takeover of nine consumer electronics stores from HEM Vertriebs GmbH (Hohenloher electrical stores) from Schwäbisch Hall with 247 employees and 89 trainees.
- Expert Handels GmbH Ost & Co. KG , founded on April 1st, 2015: The branches of Expert Handels GmbH in Flensburg and Schwerin, including over 50 employees (including 10 trainees), were brought in here.
- Expert Techno-Land GmbH : The Deizisau location was added in the 2015/2016 financial year, and expert Techno-Land GmbH was founded to safeguard and continue it. The takeover of Techno-Land Audio-Video Handels-GmbH and the more than 50 employees (including 6 trainees) took place on May 1st, 2015.
- Bening Beteiligungs GmbH & Co. KG : On April 1, 2017, Expert Growth and Participation SE took over the majority of its partner Expert Bening as part of a succession plan . For this purpose the Bening Beteiligungs GmbH & Co. KG was founded.
Expert Versicherungs-Service GmbH , a brokerage company that has existed since 1979 and acts as a consultant for the member companies through independent brokers and since 2011 also for member companies of the Hörex hearing aid cooperation .
- Intersport Versicherungsdienst GmbH - insurance broker - founded in 2002 in cooperation with the sports retail association Intersport Deutschland eG. Through this company, the members of Intersport and, since 2012, the members of the shoe trade association of SABU Schuh & Marketing GmbH are advised and supported.
- VGV insurance broker for commercial group groups GmbH - founded on August 1st, 2012 - is a wholly owned subsidiary of expert Versicherungs-Service GmbH and looks after members of e-masters GmbH (electrical installation and trade). Since November 2018, all insurance activities outside the expert group have been bundled under the umbrella of VGV Insurance Brokers for Commercial Association Groups GmbH.
The conversion to Societas Europaea (SE) took effect on February 14, 2017. Gerd-Christian Hesse, CFO of expert SE, underlines the advantages of the new legal form: “As an SE, we are ideally positioned for the future, especially in light of our global supplier relationships. The new legal form will simplify many processes here. "
Sales figures
Expert SE achieved a sales increase of 5.5% in the 2014/2015 financial year (April 1, 2014 to March 31, 2015). Internal sales at industrial prices excluding sales tax , which result from purchasing by affiliated shareholders, rose to EUR 2.09 billion (EUR 1.98 billion in the previous year). In the 2018/2019 financial year (April 1, 2018 to March 31, 2019), internal sales at industrial prices excluding sales tax amounted to EUR 2.14 billion. This corresponds to a slight decrease of 0.5 percent compared to the previous year.
