The Moritzdorf ferry is a passenger ferry across the Baaber Bek on Rügen in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .

It connects the district of Moritzdorf , which belongs to the municipality of Sellin, west of the Baaber Bek with the Baaber bulwark of the municipality of Baabe to the east . Without a ferry, you would have to take an eight-kilometer detour around Lake Sellin to the north . A wooden rowing boat serves as the ferry and is rowed by the ferryman across the Baaber Bek, which is only about 50 meters wide. The ferry offers a maximum of 15 passengers and is one of the smallest ferries in Germany. Bicycles and strollers are also transferred. Germany's only rowing ferry operates on a regular basis in Berlin .

The ferry connection has existed since 1891. The first owner of the ferry was the dealer Martin Looks . Although there were plans to build a bridge from 1887, these were not implemented. The ferry operates as required during the year-round ferry times. The ferry passengers call the ferry by striking a metal pipe or by shouting. A mobile phone number is also shown. In the past there was a bell to call the ferryman.
