Fährstraße 6 is a listed residential building in Magdeburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

It stands individually on the eaves on the southeast side of Fährstraße in the Magdeburg district of Buckau .

Architecture and history

The four-story building was built in 1891 in the neo-renaissance style on the site of the mortar factory of the ship owner August Berger. The factory was behind the building. The red, brick-faced facade has five axes and has plastered surfaces. The house entrance is located on the extreme left axis. The windows above on the first and second floors are surrounded by a common frame. The facade of the first floor is rusticated . There is a strong console cornice on the house.

In the local register of monuments , the house is listed as a monument under registration number 094 82590 .

As the last remnant of a Wilhelminian style row of houses, the residential building is considered to shape the street scene. It is also regarded as a testimony to simple or medium-sized living conditions in the district that was then characterized by industry.
