Nowa Wieś Mała (German Klein Neudorf ) is a village in the municipality Lewin Brzeski in the Powiat Brzeski of the Opole Voivodeship .

Geographical location

The Angerdorf Nowa Wieś Mała is located in the southeast of the historical region of Lower Silesia . The place is about four kilometers west of Lewin Brzeski ( Leuven ), 16 kilometers southeast of the district town Brzeg (Brieg) and 30 kilometers northwest of the voivodeship capital Opole . Nowa Wieś Mała is located in the Nizina Śląska (Silesian Plain) on the edge of the Dolina Nysy Kłodzkiej (Glatzer Neisse Valley) to the Równina Wrocławska (Wroclaw Plain) .

history

The place was first mentioned in 1393 as Nuewendorff .

After the First Silesian War in 1742, Klein Neudorf and most of Silesia fell to Prussia .

After the reorganization of the province of Silesia , the rural community of Klein Neudorf belonged to the district of Brieg in the administrative district of Breslau from 1816 . In 1845 there was a Scholtisei, a Protestant school and 63 houses in the village. In the same year 354 people lived in Klein Neudorf, 17 of them Catholic. In 1874 the district of Taschenberg-Michelau was founded, which consisted of the rural communities of Cantersdorf, Jeschen, Klein Neudorf, Michelau, Taschenberg and the estate districts of Cantersdorf, Klein Neudorf and Taschenberg. In 1885 Klein Neudorf had 436 inhabitants.

In 1933 Klein Neudorf had 348 and 321 inhabitants. Until 1945 the place was in the district of Brieg .

As a result of the Second World War, the German town of Klein Neudorf, like most of Silesia, fell under Polish administration in 1945 . Subsequently, the place was renamed Nowa Wieś Mała and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 it was incorporated into the Opole Voivodeship. In 1999, the place came to the newly founded Powiat Breszki ( Brieg district ).
