Oldrzyszowice (German Hilbersdorf ) is a village in the municipality Lewin Brzeski in the powiat Brzeski of the Opole Voivodeship .

Geographical location

The street village of Oldrzyszowice is located in the west of the historical region of Upper Silesia . The place is located about five kilometers southeast of the municipal seat Lewin Brzeski ( Leuven ), 23 kilometers southeast of the district town Brzeg (Brieg) and 26 kilometers northwest of the voivodeship capital Opole . Oldrzyszowice lies in the Nizina Śląska (Silesian Plain) within the Równina Niemodlińska (Falkenberg Plain) .

The village was first mentioned in 1283 as Hildebrandi villa . 1402 the place is mentioned as Hildbrandsdorf . In 1447 a parish church is mentioned in the village, which fell into disrepair after the Reformation . Only a church tower remained, which still exists today.

After the First Silesian War in 1742 Hilbersdorf and most of Silesia fell to Prussia . In 1783 a Protestant school was set up in the village.

After the reorganization of the province of Silesia , the rural community Hilbersdorf belonged to the district of Falkenberg OS in the administrative district of Opole from 1816 . In 1845 there was a castle, an outbuilding, a Protestant school, a brewery and 63 houses in the village. In the same year 518 people lived in Hilbersdorf, 61 of them Catholic. In 1855 597 people lived in the village. In 1865 the place had nine farmer, 43 gardener and 10 housekeeper jobs. The evangelical school was attended by 51 students in the same year. In 1874 the administrative district Nicoline was founded, which consisted of the rural communities Arnsdorf, Hilbersdorf, Klein Sarne, Rauske and Stroschwitz and the manor districts of Arnsdorf, Hilbersdorf, Klein Sarne, Rauske and Stroschwitz. In 1885 Hilbersdorf had 589 inhabitants.

The village was electrified in the 1920s. For this purpose, an electricity cooperative was founded in Hilbersdorf. Hilbersdorf had 535 inhabitants in 1933 and 525 in 1939. Until 1945 the place was in the district of Falkenberg OS

The Red Army entered Hilbersdorf on February 7, 1945. After that, the previously German place came under Polish administration and was renamed Oldrzyszowice and assigned to the Wroclaw Voivodeship. The German population was driven to the Lamsdorf internment camp in August 1945 . 100 villagers were killed here. The remaining German population was expelled in the summer of 1946. The remaining German population was expelled in June 1946. In 1950 the place came to the Opole Voivodeship . In 1999 the place came to the powiat Brzeski .
