Lipowa (German Neuleipe , until 1914 Polish Leipe ) is a village in Upper Silesia . The village is located in the municipality of Dambrau ( Dąbrowa ) in the Powiat Opolski ( Opole District ) in the Opole Voivodeship in Poland.

Geographical location

Lipowa is located in the west of the historical region of Upper Silesia . The place is about seven kilometers northwest of the municipality of Dambrau and twenty kilometers west of the district town and voivodeship capital Opole ( Opole ). Lipowa lies in the Nizina Śląska (Silesian Plain) within the Równina Niemodlińska (Falkenberg Plain) . Lipowa is surrounded by extensive forest areas. To the southwest of the village are the two lakes Wołowski , Komorzno and Czarny .

In the west, Lipowa borders the village of Nowa Jamka ( German Jamke ). Other neighboring towns are Oldrzyszowice ( Hilbersdorf ) and Przecza ( Arnsdorf ) , which belong to the municipality Lewin Brzeski in the north and northwest .

history

After the First Silesian War in 1742, Polish Leipe and most of Silesia fell to Prussia . In 1760 a Protestant school was set up in the village.

After the reorganization of the province of Silesia , the rural community Polish Leipe belonged to the district of Falkenberg OS in the administrative district of Opole from 1818 . In 1845 there was a castle, an outbuilding, a Protestant school, a distillery, a brewery and 44 houses in the village. In the same year, 350 people lived in Leipe, 131 of them Catholic. In 1855 there were 332 people living in the village. In 1865 the village had ten farmers, 26 gardeners and six cottagers. The one-class Protestant school was attended by 47 students. In 1874 the administrative district Dambrau was founded, which consisted of the rural communities rural communities Dambrau, Czeppelwitz, Polish Leipe and Sokollnik as well as the manor districts Dambrau, Czeppelwitz, Polish Leipe and Sokollnik. In 1885 Polish Leipe had 268 inhabitants.

In 1933 323 people lived in the village, in 1939 again 325 people. Until the end of the war in 1945 the place belonged to the district of Falkenberg OS

Until the end of the war in 1945 the place belonged to the district of Falkenberg OS. After that, the previously German place came under Polish administration and was renamed Lipowa and attached to Gmina Skorogoszcz. The German population was driven to the Lamsdorf internment camp in August 1945 . 80 villagers were killed here. The remaining German population was expelled in the summer of 1946. In 1950 the place came to the Opole Voivodeship . 1973 Lipowa was affiliated with the Gmina Dąbrowa . In 1999 the place came to the re-established Powiat Opolski .
