Siedliska (German Schedliske , 1936–1945 Waldsiedel ) is a village in Upper Silesia . The village is located in the municipality of Dambrau ( Dąbrowa ) in the Powiat Opolski ( Opole District ) in the Opole Voivodeship in Poland.

Geographical location

Siedliska is located in the west of the historical region of Upper Silesia . The one about four kilometers southwest of the municipality seat Dambrau and thirteen kilometers west of the district town and voivodeship capital Opole ( Opole ). Siedliska lies in the Nizina Śląska (Silesian Plain) within the Równina Niemodlińska (Falkenberg Plain) . The Autostrada A4 motorway runs to the west of the village .

history

The village already existed in the 16th century and was part of the Falkenberg rule.

After the First Silesian War in 1742, Schedliske and most of Silesia fell to Prussia . Between 1743 and 1818 the village belonged to the Opole district .

After the reorganization of the province of Silesia , the rural community Schedliske belonged to the district of Falkenberg OS in the administrative district of Opole from 1818 . In 1845 there was a farm and 16 houses in the village. In the same year, 92 people lived in Schedliske, twelve of them Protestants. In 1855 136 people lived in the village. In 1865 the village had six gardeners and one cottage. The residents attended the school in Brande. In 1874 the Tillowitz district was founded, which consisted of the rural communities of Baumgarten, Ellguth-Tillowitz, Michelsdorf, Schedliske, Schiedlow, Seifersdorf, Tillowitz and Weiderwitz and the manor districts of Baumgarten, Ellguth-Tillowitz, Schedliske, Schiedlow, Seifersdorf, Tillowitz and Weiderwitz. In 1885 Schedliske had 92 inhabitants.

In 1930 twelve settler sites were created in Schedliske. In 1933 189 people lived in Schedliske. On June 10, 1936, the place was renamed Waldsiedel . In 1939 the village had 190 inhabitants. In the same year, Waldsiedel received its own school and sports field in the summer. The most important company until 1945 was the Kelpe steam sawmill, headed by Wilhelm Kelpe. Until the end of the war in 1945 the place belonged to the district of Falkenberg OS

The Red Army entered the village on March 18, 1945. Then the previously German place came under Polish administration, was renamed Siedliska and joined the Gmina Dąbrowa . In June 1946 the remaining German population was expelled. In 1950 the place came to the Opole Voivodeship . In 1999 the place came to the re-established Powiat Opolski .
