The Fédération Internationale des Sociétés Artistiques et Intellectuelles de Cheminots (FISAIC), in English for example “International Association of Artistic and Intellectual Associations of Railway Workers” or “International Cultural and Leisure Association of Railway Workers”, is an international organization for promotion and support cultural leisure activities "of railway workers of all nations". The umbrella organization, founded in 1952 and based in Helsingør in Denmark , acts as a link between national associations with a similar focus and, in particular, organizes internationally oriented cultural events in order to “promote and encourage people to do cultural activities in their leisure time”.

“The foundation stone of the international cultural and leisure association of railway workers” was laid on November 15, 1952 in Strasbourg .

In particular, FISAIC held several dozen art exhibitions; the 24th, for example, in Germany with the painting, graphic and sculpture divisions from October 25th to November 15th, 2002 in the premises of the Hessian Ministry of Science and Art in Wiesbaden .

Personalities

  • The artist Friedrich Kurbadt (1927–2015) took part in all FISAIC exhibitions from 1965 to 1992.
