Federation of Bavarian Benedictine Abbeys
The Federation of Bavarian Benedictine Abbeys is an amalgamation of independent monasteries of Benedictine women in Bavaria , Austria and the USA .
history
With a papal decree of July 7, 1986, the Federation of Abbeys of the Bavarian Benedictine Sisters was established as a monastic confederation of several independent convents within the Benedictine Confederation . In the years 1985–1987 the constitutions for the newly established federation were drawn up. On March 25, 1987, the Constitutions were provisionally approved by the Congregation for Religious and Secular Institutes ("Religious Congregation ") in Rome. They came into force on July 11, 1987.
On January 1, 1992, the Constitutions were finally approved by the Holy See in Rome.
