The Prince Branimir Order with Collar ( Croatian Red kneza Branimira s ogrlicom ) is a state award of the Republic of Croatia .
Foundation and rank
The Order of Merit was donated on April 1, 1995 by Prime Minister Stjepan Mesić . It is named after the Croatian Knez (prince) Branimir .
The Prince Branimir Order ranks sixth in the Croatian order system and is awarded to leading persons of the Croatian state, to foreign heads of consular and diplomatic missions as well as to persons who have promoted the prestige and reputation of Croatia at international level.
Appearance and wearing style
The order decoration shows a step-shaped cross with a height of 60 mm and a width of 43 mm, which is made of 999 silver . A representation of the altar wall of the church in Sopot (near Benkovac ) can be seen in the center of the cross. Its gable is adorned with a cross at the top and two birds in heraldic position below to the left and right. A gold-plated silver plate with the inscription BRANIMIR is placed in the lower part of the step cross . At the upper end of the medal there is a hitch for the collar showing the Croatian wickerwork .
The lapel is smooth and shows the engraved Croatian wickerwork at the top and the inscription REPUBLIKA HRVATSKA (REPUBLIKA HRVATSKA ) contained therein .
The collar is 36 mm wide and 600 mm long and has the red and silver checkerboard pattern of the Croatian coat of arms .
The miniature belonging to the order is worn on the left side of the chest, either as a ribbon medal or as a ribbon buckle with a miniature of the medal.
