Architecture and history

The three-and-a-half-storey administration building was built in 1891 as the Royal Weights and Measures Office according to plans by the Royal Building Council Fritze. The building rests on a high basement. The facade of the simple brick building is six-axis and structured by narrow cornices. In the leftmost axis there is a flat entrance risalit . The entrance itself is designed as a round arch and is crowned by a skylight in the arched area . The base of the building and the frames of the windows are made of sandstone . The use of this relatively expensive building material is justified with the use for a royal authority. On the ground floor the windows are designed as round arches, on the upper floors as standing rectangles. There is a delicate console cornice. The house is covered with a gable roof .

In the local register of monuments , the administration building is listed as a monument under registration number 094 76830 .
