F-Secure Anti-Virus is a product from the Finnish IT company F-Secure . It was primarily developed for computers with Windows and Mac OS X and is intended to protect users from malware .
Functions
F-Secure Anti-Virus has DeepGuard 5 , a cloud-based real - time protection, detection and removal of viruses , Trojans , worms , spyware , adware , privacy protection, browser protection, tracking protection and detection and removal of rootkits . The program also receives automatic real-time updates.
According to the manufacturer, the Deepguard 5 enables F-Secure Anti-Virus users to detect malware in real time and prevent exploit behaviors.
It also scans incoming instant messenger traffic and e-mail traffic, has network protection and a game mode. The program also includes free technical chat support, privacy protection and free program upgrades within the paid subscription. F-Secure currently offers annual or biennial subscriptions for one, three, or five computers.
Test results
In the test by AV-Comparatives , F-Secure Anti-Virus was named the performance winner for antivirus programs in July 2013. With the help of the PC Mark 7 benchmark , over 20 well-known security suites were examined for the speed when copying and archiving the data, as well as when installing and starting the software . F-Secure also removed malware with the rating good in security tests .
restrictions
F-Secure Anti-Virus lacks some of the features that F-Secure Internet Security possesses. These features include anti-phishing, a firewall , online banking help, and online child protection. The program, like many of its competitors, is incompatible with other anti-virus and anti-spyware software.
Macintosh versions
The Macintosh version of F-Secure Anti-Virus runs on all Macs with Mac OS X Snow Leopard or higher. An additional function is the panic button, with which you can stop all data traffic on the Mac. It also has a Mac-like interface that Mac users are familiar with.
