FBI Academy
The FBI Academy (Engl. FBI Academy ) is the education and training center of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) on the grounds of the Marine Corps Base Quantico in Prince William County in Virginia .
In addition to training FBI staff, the Academy's mission also includes training and continuing education for law enforcement officers from other US law enforcement agencies , agents, and foreign personnel. The training programs include weapon training, survival training and the simulation of operations by the apprentices concerned. Opened in 1972, the academy's training ground of 221 hectares includes Marine Corps Base Quantico , which is also home to the FBI laboratory .
FBI National Academy
In the academy itself, under the FBI National Academy program , which itself has existed longer than the academy, a 10-week training course for 250 selected people from Germany and abroad takes place every 3 months . Potential candidates of the federal police (Federal Police), the US State police (State Police), the city police (Metropolitan Police), suitable executives of the local police (County Police) and police officers from partner countries are subject to high participation requirements, which they described in a competition for they have to prove themselves to be nominated. If the application is successful, the further training takes place u. a. regarding behavior and communication (analysis and skills training), leadership skills, forensics, terrorism, health and fitness.
