Günter Kasal

Günter Kasal (born November 13, 1966 in Vienna ) is an Austrian politician of Team Strache , before that of the Austrian Freedom Party (FPÖ). Since 2010 he has been a member of the Vienna State Parliament and a member of the Vienna City Council .

Life

education and profession

After graduating from high school, Günter Kasal began studying business administration , which he completed in 2006 at the Vienna University of Economics with a thesis on the subject of stationary traffic in Vienna: the Volksgarage as a means to improve parking space problems? graduated as a Magister.

Kasal works in the Federal Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs, Health and Consumer Protection in the department for budget management, funding coordination, controlling and cost accounting. Before that, he was press officer in the State Secretariat of Ursula Haubner .

politics

From 2001 to 2010, as FPÖ district councilor, he was a member of the district council in Vienna- Hietzing , where he acted as club chairman of the regional councils of freedom. On November 25, 2010, at the beginning of the 19th electoral term, he was sworn in as a member of the Vienna State Parliament and City Council . In the 20th electoral term he is a member of the municipal council committee for housing, housing, urban renewal and women. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of Vienna Youth Housing and is a member of the Advisory Board of the Vienna Housing Fund / Fund for Housing and Urban Renewal.

In July 2020, Kasal switched to Team Strache due to internal party conflicts with Dominik Nepp in the course of the debate about how to deal with former party leader Heinz-Christian Strache . In the state and municipal council elections in Vienna 2020 , he is running for ninth place on the list.
