Soccer Club 1922 Östringen is a soccer club from Östringen in the district of Karlsruhe in Baden-Württemberg . It was founded in 1922.

history

Although the exact date of foundation has not been passed down, the founding year 1922 is considered certain. From the very beginning, a lot of efforts were made to build our own sports field. This was completed in 1928 on the forest hump.

In the years up to the outbreak of World War II, the young club was able to record sporting success in the form of promotion to higher classes. Even in the post-war era, the successes could be built on immediately, until 1957 under the later district youth leader Erwin Humbert the promotion to the 2nd amateur league was achieved. In the following two decades, promotions and relegations alternated again and again, with membership in the 1st amateur league was just missed twice.

The greatest success up to then was winning the North Baden Association Cup in 1971, as well as participating in the South German Football Cup. Further great successes were not long in coming: First of all, membership in the regional league was achieved. In 1979 they became champions and were promoted to the Nordbaden Association League for the first time.

In the same year, the North Baden Association Cup was won for the second time. The associated participation in the 1st DFB main round 1979/80 gave the FCÖ the dreamless par excellence, FC Bayern Munich , a sporting highlight that has not been forgotten to this day. The home right could be bought from the dream opponent and the event of the century could be held in Östringen. In record time, the audience capacity was increased from 5000 to 10,000 through structural measures. The game was lost by 1:10.

But defeats and relegations are also part of the sport and so the FCÖ later had to compete in the district league, which could only be left in 1992. Association and national league membership alternated.

In the 2014/15 season, the club played in the Bruchsal regional league, where it secured the championship and the associated direct promotion to the Mittelbaden regional league. In addition to the regional league championship, they also won the regional cup and were thus double winners in 2014/15.
