history

FK Bokelj was founded in 1922 in the Montenegrin coastal city of Kotor. In the times of Yugoslavia and later Serbia and Montenegro , the club, like almost all of today's Montenegro, always played in the second, the then Montenegrin national league, or even third division. While the city still belonged to Yugoslavia and Serbia and Montenegro, the club mostly only played in the second or third division. The club's more successful period only began in 2006, when Montenegro gained its sovereignty . Here they qualified for the second highest division of the still young country, the Druga Crnogorska League . Already in the first season of this, he was second to be promoted to thePrva Crnogorska Liga , in which you could only stay for one season, because you finished the Prva Crnogorska Liga 2007/08 in tenth place and thus had to go into the relegation against FK Jedinstvo Bijelo Polje (first leg in Kotor 0-0, Bokelj entered Second leg did not play and was relegated). After that, FK Bokelj played three seasons in the Druga Crnogorska League, until 2010/11 as champions of renewed promotion was achieved. The 2011/12 season of the Prva Crnogorska Liga ended, however, the club again as the last, so you have to compete in the 2012/13 season in the Druga Crnogorska Liga.
