FK Gjøvik-Lyn is a Norwegian football club from Gjøvik . The club was founded on February 1, 1902 as SK Thor Lyn and is one of the oldest clubs in Norway . They last played in 1963 in the first division . The club currently plays in third-rate Oddsenligaen Group 2.
history
Just one year after it was founded, the association was called SK Lyn. Together with Gjøvik Skiklubb, Gjøvik Tennisklubb and Gjøvik Turnforening, it became the new name "Fotballklubben Lyn". In 1949 the name was FK Gjøvik-Lyn (not to be confused with Lyn Oslo).
The greatest success was the cup win in 1962 with a 2-0 victory over SK Vard Haugesund . In the 1980s, he was relegated to the 5th division. In the 2014 season the club plays in the 2nd division (3rd class).
