history

Structural development

The football club (FC) Hansa Wittstock, founded in 1919, is considered the predecessor of FK Hansa. This was transformed into the Hansa sports club in 1935. After the Second World War, all sports clubs in Wittstock and in the entire Soviet occupation zone were dissolved. Initially, loosely organized sports groups were formed to keep the sports traffic going. In 1948, the Wittstock depot founded the company sports community (BSG) Lokomotive with several sports sections, including football. The most successful was the fistball section , which took several second and third places at the GDR championships between 1960 and 1976. In 1980 there was a change in the carrier company , the Wittstocker Obertrikotagenbetrieb OTB took over the BSG, which from then on carried the name Progress Wittstock. In 1985 the sponsorship was transferred to the metallurgy plant located in Wittstock, and the name of the BSG changed to Stahl Wittstock. In this situation, the company sports club until 1990. As a result of economic changes was through the political changes of 1989, the BSG system could not be continued, and it was club SG Stahl Wittstock founded. In 1993 the soccer teams left the club and founded their own club, the FK Hansa Wittstock.

Development of the sport of football

Until the 1950s, the Wittstocker soccer teams only moved on the lower local levels. It was not until 1960 that the BSG Lok managed to establish itself sporadically in the fourth and later third class Potsdam district league . Only with the formation of the BSG Progress could a longer stay in the district league be ensured. After four years of membership in the district class, progress rose again in 1979 to the district league and was able to achieve final placements in the top half of the table in the following years. The BSG Stahl could not continue these good results, it rose again in 1986 in the district class and did not return to the 3rd division until the end of the GDR football operation in 1990.

BSG Progress moved into the spotlight throughout the GDR in 1983, when it qualified for the GDR soccer cup after winning the district soccer cup . Opponents in the first round were the second division Energie Cottbus , who were defeated 1-0 at home. In the second round, the Wittstockers again had to compete on their own against Stahl Brandenburg from the GDR Oberliga . A respectable 3: 4 was achieved against the steelworkers, who played two classes higher, but that was also the end of the cup competition.

The SG Stahl and later the FK Hansa began in the DFB game operation from 1990 on the district level. In 1997, FK Hansa rose to what was then the 7th regional division and played there until 2002. After relegation, there were again three years in the regional division, until 2005 they returned to the regional division, which has been the eighth division since 2008. In June 2012, after a strong season as champions of the regional class West, he was promoted to the seventh division of the regional division North. At the end of the 2012/13 season, the long-time coach J. Lutter achieved seventh place. With S. Wolter and Ch. Mahnke, FK Hansa Wittstock provided the best goal scorers in the Landesliga Nord. In the first half of the season in particular, the young team showed good football and laid the foundation for another season of regional league football in Wittstock. Since relegation in 2014, however, they played again in the national class West. A newly formed team achieved 4th place at the end of the 2014/15 season. In the 2015/16 season they finished only a disappointing 7th place with 48 points, but won the district cup final of the Prignitz / Ruppin football district. This entitled to participate in the 1st round of the state cup, but where it was eliminated after extra time against the higher-class team from Eintracht Oranienburg. The 2016/17 season started mediocre for the club, which then put down an impressive series and in the end was champion of the regional class West with 75 points and rose again to the regional league North. Striker T. Hordan, who scored an impressive 41 goals, played a major role in the success. After the championship, the club won the district cup again this year and thus got the double. In the current season, the team still trained by coach J. Lutter plays a good role. After the end of the first half of the season, the team, reinforced with some players from higher-class clubs (Zielasko / Michaelis from MSV Neuruppin), took a good 7th place and scored 20 points.
