Tanzplan Germany

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tanzplan Deutschland was an initiative of the German Federal Cultural Foundation . The aim was to improve the framework conditions for dance in Germany and to establish it as an art form of equal value alongside opera and theater in public and cultural-political perception. The project had a budget of 12.5 million euros for a period of five years (2005–2010). Almost all actors and institutions of the professional dance scene nationwide are involved.

organization

A board of trustees set up by the Board of Trustees of the Federal Cultural Foundation was responsible for the content of Tanzplan Deutschland . The board of trustees includes: Nele Hertling , Reinhild Hoffmann , Antje Klinge and Johannes Odenthal. The project sponsor is the non-profit association Tanzplan Deutschland eV; Club members are Angelika von der Beek, Nik Haffner, Claudia Jeschke, Frank Ottersbach (managing director), Madeline Ritter (project manager), Anna Thier and Maria Vedder .

activities

The main focus of work was the two programs Tanzplan auf Ort and Tanzplan training projects. With a general action budget, further supplementary measures in the form of initiative projects and information offers were carried out.

In addition to its own activities, Tanzplan Deutschland supported the co-production funding of the National Performance Network (NPN), the artist residencies of the dance platform Germany and, with a one-off funding, the internet portals dance-germany.org and tanznetz.de. In 2006 and 2009, the German Federal Cultural Foundation also organized the German Dance Congress as part of the Tanzplan Deutschland.
