Maria Vedder

Maria Vedder (* 1948 in Nordhorn ) is a media artist and professor at the Berlin University of the Arts , she lives and works in Berlin .

Life

Maria Vedder studied photography, theater, film and television studies as well as social science and has been working as a video artist and photographer since the 1970s . From the very beginning, long study trips and lecture series in Asia accompanied her artistic work. Visiting professorships at the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences and the Bremen University of the Arts followed. In the 1980s, she wrote books on video in collaboration with Bettina Gruber , and joint video films were made at the same time. In 1991 she took over the professorship for media art at the Berlin University of the Arts. Her work is represented in collections around the world.

Maria Vedder is a member of the German Association of Artists .
