The Mosbacher Fußballverein 1919 eV is a German soccer club based in the Baden-Württemberg city of Mosbach in the Neckar-Odenwald district .
history
Established until the post-war period
MFV was founded in 1919. After the Second World War , the team made it to the 1946/47 season in the then second-rate regional league North Baden . With 18:34 points, the division could be kept just under 11th place in the North group at the end of this season. After the 1947/48 season , however, the national league became single-track, which meant that the MFV had to relegate again due to 23:21 points over the 8th place in its group. For the 1949/50 season, however, the direct rise again succeeded. After this season, however, the team positioned themselves with 12:36 and 12th place in the table cellar again. For the next season, however, the league became the third-class 1st Amateur League North Baden and thus no club had to relegate. With 12:48 points Mosbach landed again in the basement and had to relegate due to 15th place at the end of the 1950/51 season .
Promotion to the amateur league
It was not until the 1966/67 season that they were promoted to the 1st amateur league again. The club was able to hold onto the league with 23:37 points over 13th place ASV Durlach was necessary. The following season could be finished with 29:31 points even in the middle of the table in 9th place. After the 1968/69 season , however, the club's time in the league was finally over and the team had to relegate back to the 2nd amateur league with 23:37 points over 14th place .
Current time
From the 2002/03 season at the latest, the club played in the Landesliga Odenwald and placed there at the end of the season with 46 points in 7th place in the table. After the 2009/10 season and two runners-up championships in the preseason then finally won the championship in the national league with 80 points and thus 23 points ahead of VfR Üissigheim , which allowed the club to move up to the association league. However, the club was only able to hold out there for one season and then had to be relegated directly to 13th place with 25 points. After the 2016/17 season, with 60 points, qualifying for the relegation to the association league again succeeded in second place. There the team lost 4-1 to FC Olympia Kirrlach. Thus the club still plays in the Landesliga Odenwald today .
