Fabasoft Folio is a software for content and document management that was developed by Fabasoft , headquartered in Linz . The product enables the acquisition, management and archiving of documents as well as the automation of business processes .

Folio is a software product for recording, managing and tamper-proof storage of business cases, files and documents, which offers solutions for enterprise content management , internal collaboration ( workflow management ), agile business processes, compliance management and information governance.
- Web based
Fabasoft Folio is web-based; it can be used directly via the Internet via the web browser.
- Operating models
Folio is available as on-premise software or in the SaaS (Software as a Service) operating model . For collaboration with external business partners, Folio can be used in the cloud version Folio Cloud .
- Specialist applications
Folio can be expanded with specialist applications (enterprise apps):
- Digital personnel file : digital management of personnel documents (e.g. references, certificates, agreements, ...)
- Transmittal Management - Exchange of documents with transmittals (receipts)
- Incoming mail capture - scanning of incoming mail and electronic distribution to recipients
- Applicant management - administration of applicants and targeted search for qualifications
- Digital contract management - Central and audit-proof storage of contracts and agreements
- Digital order file - workflow-supported ordering system
- Invoice management - administration and audit-proof storage of incoming invoices as well as integration into ERP systems (e.g. SAP )

In 2010, Folio was the first software product in the world to be certified according to MoReq2 , the European standard for records management at the time.
By assigning individual access rights, users can control access to all documents and business records of the company. The version management automatically creates its own copy of the document for each processing. This means that all work steps and changes can be traced.
Mobile access
Mobile use on smartphones (e.g. Android (operating system) , iPhone ) and media tablets (e.g. iPad ) is supported by open technology standards such as HTTPS , WebDAV , CalDAV and CMIS as well as apps for the Android and iOS operating systems supported.

- ECM Award 2012 Austria
On April 26, 2012, SPAR and Fabasoft won the ECM Award 2012 in the “Innovative Implementation” category. The submitted project “New Document Management System for SPAR” relates to the conversion of the SPAR Austria Group to Folio, during which more than 20 million documents were imported from the previous system into Folio.

Since 2009 Fabasoft has been listed as a “niche player” in the Gartner Magic Quadrant “Enterprise Content Management” of the American analyst group Gartner .
