Fabian Reiter

Fabian Lothar Walter Reiter (born January 19, 1970 in Hanover ) is a German papyrologist .

Life

From 1990 to 1998 he studied Classical Archeology , Classical Philology and Ancient History at the University of Trier and the Ruprecht-Karls-University of Heidelberg , where he graduated on March 31, 1998 with a Magister Artium and in April 2003 worked with Géza Alföldy and Dieter Hagedorn with the topic the nomarchs of Arsinoites in Roman Egypt doctorate . From 1998 to 2005 he was a research assistant at the Department of Papyrology, Epigraphy and Numismatics at the Institute for Classical Studies at the University of Cologne , then from 2005 to 2006 in the academy project "Greek Papyrus Certificates" at the Institute for Legal History and Papyrus Research at the Philipps University in Marburg and on the project Dictionary of Greek papyrus documents from Hans-Albert Rupprecht .

From 2006 to 2014 Reiter was curator of the papyrus collection (Greek-Latin section) of the Egyptian Museum Berlin . In 2004 he received his habilitation as Maître de conférences in France in the section “08 Langues et littératures anciennes” for four years, in December 2013 he received his habilitation as professore associato in classical philology at the University of Bologna, where he has been a professor since 2018 teaches. In the meantime, Reiter was Professor of Papyrology at the University of Trier (2014–2018).
