The factory building of the Brackelsberg company (postal address Heilenbecker Strasse 117–121 ) is a factory building in the Ennepetal district of Milspe . Its north and west facades are under monument protection.

description

The Brackelsberg foundry moved to this location in the 19th century . It has been in the tradition of numerous proto-industrial hammer works on the Heilenbecke stream since the end of the Middle Ages. In the course of time, some of these production sites developed into modern production sites for the metal industry, which benefited from the advantages of the location, such as a trained skilled workforce and good transport connections. So does the Brackelsberg foundry.

The factory building, which was built around 1900, has a richly structured factory facade with characteristic arched windows with metal bars, which is visibly influenced by classicism . It is the only factory building of this type in the Ennepe-Ruhr district that has remained largely unchanged in its original condition .
