Milspe is the most populous district of Ennepetal in the Ennepe-Ruhr district in North Rhine-Westphalia . From 1923 to 1949 Milspe was an independent municipality .

history
In the Schwelm district in the province of Westphalia , the municipalities of Mühlinghausen , Oelkinghausen and Schweflinghausen merged on April 1, 1923 to form the new municipality of Milspe . The Ennepe office, which consists of the three old communities, was renamed the Milspe office at the same time . On June 1, 1937, the two offices Milspe and Voerde, each consisting of the eponymous municipality, were merged to form the office Milspe-Voerde . On April 1, 1949, the communities of Milspe and Voerde merged to form the city of Ennepetal . Today's Milspe district does not include the entire former municipal area, but only the core town on the Ennepe.
