Büttenberg is a district of Ennepetal that borders the center and has around 3,300 inhabitants.
Economically it is dominated by small businesses . The district has a community elementary school with a gym and sports field as well as two kindergartens, a children’s and youth club and a Protestant community center. There are also two sports clubs: SV Büttenberg 1930 and Rot-Weiß Büttenberg. The district also has a police station.

The former federal highway 7 leads west past the district. There are also various buses that go to Wuppertal and Bochum , among others . The nearby Schwelm train station can be reached in 15 minutes.
Shopping
In the center of the district there is a supermarket, a pub and a restaurant. On the northwestern edge there are two more supermarkets and two fast food restaurants.
