Madeleine Giske (born September 14, 1987 in Nuremberg , Germany ) is a Norwegian former soccer player. She is the daughter of the former Norwegian professional soccer player Anders Giske and was born during his time at 1. FC Nürnberg .

Career

Giske took part in the 2004 U-19 European Championship , where Norway was eliminated in the group stage. In 2006 she played with the U-21 team at the Nordic Cup and reached fifth place.

In March 2006, at the age of 18, she made her first international match and was in the squad for the 2007 World Cup in China, where she was used in two games. Due to a torn cruciate ligament in June 2008, she could not take part in the Olympic Games in Beijing and the European Championships in Finland. In 2010 she was again considered for the national team and was in the squad for the 2011 World Cup in Germany. In the preliminary round from the Norwegian team in their country of birth, she was used in two games. She played her last international matches at the Algarve Cup in 2012 .
