Fabrizio Luna

Fabrizio Luna (* in the 15th century in Naples ; † before 1559 ibid) was an Italian lexicographer.

life and work

Fabrizio Luna was a Neapolitan, but had also met Pietro Bembo personally while traveling to northern Italy . In 1536 he published a rich and original early glossary of Italian in which, in relation to the Questione della lingua, he took the view of a "supra-regional judicial language to be formed from the various dialectal court languages ​​and dialects" (Pfister) and alongside the usual classics Dante , Petrarca and Boccaccio and Ariosto quoted.
