Fad Browne

Patrick "Fad" Browne (born September 12, 1906 , † February 19, 1991 ) was an Irish Fianna Fáil politician who was a member of the House of Commons ( Dáil Éireann ) between 1966 and 1973 and the Senate ( Seanad Éireann ) from 1973 to 1977 ) was. He was a member of both houses of the Irish Parliament ( Oireachtas ) .

Life

Browne, who by profession winemakers had was on December 7, 1966, by the death of Thaddeus Lynch made necessary by-election (by-election) in the constituency Wexford first elected as a member of Dáil Éireann. In this election he won 12,181 votes (42.62 percent) against competitors Edward Collins from Fine Gael (9617 votes, 33.65 percent) and John Griffin from the Irish Labor Party (6783 votes, 23.73 percent) push through. In the subsequent elections on June 18, 1969 , he was re-elected in this constituency before he suffered a defeat in the elections on February 28, 1973 and lost his seat in the Dáil Éireann.

Browne then became a member of the Seanad Éireann on June 1, 1973, in which he represented the Industrial and Commercial Panel , the interest group for industry and finance, until May 26, 1977 . In 1977 he decided not to run again and withdrew from political life.
