Kurt Seidlitz (born November 19, 1937 ) is a former German soccer player. For the SC Lokomotive Leipzig he played from 1960 to 1963 in the GDR Oberliga , the top division in GDR football .

Athletic career

As a 22-year-old Kurt Seidlitz came to the top division SC Lokomotive Leipzig for the 1960 season (calendar year season). There he played with 19 league appearances and six goals scored immediately in the starting eleven, in which he was mainly called up as a left striker. It was in this position that he played the most frequently in his 24 league appearances in 1961/62 and with his nine goals he was the second top scorer of his team behind Henning Frenzel (20). Because of the changeover to the summer / spring season, 39 point games were played. Seidlitz played his last games in the GDR league in the 1962/63 season, which was played again normally with 26 rounds. Coach Alfred Kunze used him again mainly as a left winger in 25 league games, and Seidlitz scored five more goals in the league. On December 9, 1962, he completed his only trade fair city cup game with the Leipzig city selection . In the decider of the 2nd round of the trade fair cup 1962/63 against Petrolul Ploieşti , Seidlitz stood in the 0-1 defeat on his regular position in the Leipzig team.

Before the start of the 1963/64 season, top-class sport in Leipzig underwent extensive changes. The sports clubs Lokomotive and Rotation were dissolved, and the newly founded SC Leipzig took their place . The league soccer players were divided between the soccer sections of the SC Leipzig and the also newly founded company sports association (BSG) BSG Chemie Leipzig , with the supposedly best players being assigned to the SC Leipzig. Seidlitz had been assigned to the BSG Chemie, but was never used in the league games in the 1963/64 season. In addition to two friendlies with the first team, Seidlitz only played in the reserve team. So he made no contribution to the surprising victory of the championship by BSG Chemie. For the season 1964/65 Seidlitz was again registered for the chemists' soccer team. However, he was only involved in five of the six games of the Olympic Cup round held in September / October 1964 (bridging round because of the Olympic football tournament ) and was used again in three friendly games. In the summer of 1965, the BSG Chemie Leipzig announced that Kurt Seidlitz had ended his career.
