The Zollikofen – Bern line is a meter-gauge and electrified line in the canton of Bern in Switzerland .

history

On July 13, 1912, the originally about eight kilometer long railway line from the former Bern-Zollikofen-Bahn was opened; from January 1, 1922, the Solothurn-Zollikofen-Bern-Bahn (SZB) was responsible for operation.

After the route in the city of Bern was re-routed in 1965 and the 1.16 kilometer section Zollikofen - Unterzollikofen was discontinued in 1974 , it is now 5.35 kilometers long. Between Worblaufen and Bern, it is also used by the trains on the Solothurn – Worblaufen line and trains on the Worb Dorf – Worblaufen line .

All three routes have been operated by Regionalverkehr Bern – Solothurn (RBS) since January 1, 1984 and are integrated into the Bern S-Bahn . The route to Unterzollikofen is served by the S9 line. The center of operations is Worblaufen, there is also a depot and the RBS workshop. Today's Unterzollikofen terminus, on the other hand, has only one stub track with one platform edge .
