Bicycle components
Under bicycle components are understood in the bicycle technology especially all parts of the circuit and the brakes on a bicycle. The combination of a complete set of components is also known as a group . The group usually consists of at least the following components:
- Rear derailleur
- Derailleur
- Cranks
- Bottom bracket
- Chainrings
- Ring gear package
- Brakes
- Shift and brake levers (usually as a unit)
- Hubs
There is no clear definition or demarcation of which components belong. Sometimes other parts, such as the chain , the headset , Bowden cables , saddle clamp bolts or similar parts are also counted in the group.
The largest manufacturers of components are Shimano , Campagnolo , SRAM and Falcon . Parts from different manufacturers sometimes cannot be combined; Parts from the same manufacturer are generally compatible with each other.
Examples
The following examples are groups of the currently best-known component manufacturers. The names are given in qualitatively ascending order, the names of groups that are currently no longer produced are shown in brackets.
