The Fairmont Municipal Airport is a public airport of general aviation around 4 km southwest of the city of Fairmont in the US state of West Virginia . The official designation, according to FAA documentation, is Fairmont Muni-Frankman Field with FAA code 4G7. It is operated by the privately owned Fairmont-Marion County Regional Airport Authority . This airfield is part of the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems , which categorizes it as a general aviation facility. The airfield is approved for light aircraft with a take-off weight of a maximum of 12,000 lbs, around 5.5 tons.

Trivia

Frankman Field is within the control zone of Clarksburg (West Virginia) and does not have a tower for air traffic control. Arrivals and departures are coordinated by Clarksburg Controll.
