Fako is a district in the Sud-Ouest region in Cameroon .

According to the 2001 census, 534,854 inhabitants live on an area of ​​2093 km². The capital is Limbe .

prefect

Emmanuel Ledoux Engama has been Prefect of Fako since July 3, 2017. The predecessor since 2010 was George Zang III, who was retired by the president. During his tenure, Zangg III was accused of governing too dictatorially. In 2014, for example, it became known that a police officer had to sit on tar in his uniform and then knelt in front of taxi drivers.

The special amphibious battalion of the Brigade d'intervention is rapidly stationed in Tiko . In July 2017 , a boat belonging to the Brigade d'intervention capsized rapidly off the coast of Fako, near the village of Debunsha .
