Southwest ( French Sud-Ouest or English Southwest ) is a region of Cameroon with the capital Buea .

geography

The region is located in the west of the country and borders in the north-east on the north-west region , in the east on the west region , in the south-east on the Littoral region , in the south-west on the Atlantic Ocean and in the north-west on Nigeria . In the province is the 650 km² Banyang Mbo nature reserve . In the northeast of the province, the Bamenda highlands and the Bambouto massif extend , with 2740 meters the third highest point in Cameroon. Other prominent mountains are the extinct volcanoes Manengouba and Kupe , which lie in the east of the province in the Bakossi Mountains .
