Faky (spelling: FAKY) is a five-piece Japanese girl group founded by the Avex Trax record company .

history

The name of the girl group is derived from the words FA ntastic and To KY o , from which the name "FAKY" results. It also stands for "Five Ass Kicking Youngsters". Even the name from the English word "Fake" is ( German : forgery) derived to the Japanese music industry has to offer something new and real.

In July 2013, previews of every girl in the group were uploaded to the Avex Trax official YouTube channel. This was supposed to be an introduction to her first song Better Without You , which was released with a music video afterwards. The girls are currently under contract with the Avex Trax sub-label Rhythm Zone. In November of that year, the second music video Girl Digger was uploaded to YouTube. The first download single they released on December 13, a remix - EP to Better Without You , which was offered internationally for download. Subsequently, the single When You Wish Upon a Star was released on December 18 in Japan.

Finally, Better Without You was released on January 15, 2014, followed by Girl Digger on January 22, and the new song The One on January 29 . For a long time there was reports about a CD release for the EP POV , it was supposed to be released on April 9th ​​of that year, but for a few months nothing was heard from Faky. Finally it was announced that the CD would not be released and that a download EP entitled The One would be released on July 2nd . Then is POV also represented among others. It was also announced that Faky is taking a break until 2015, this decision was made for personal reasons and management voted in favor. They should come back as new and modernized, according to a statement on the official website. The official Facebook page has barely been updated since then.

Since 2015: Comeback with four and new members with five

In mid-2015, blogger Emi for You published three songs by Faky in support of the group in order to bring the band closer to her reading group. The songs were “You”, “Candy” and “POV”, the latter being a new recording without Tina’s voice. The other two songs were new and never before released songs. There were rumors in fan circles that Diane and Tina should have left the group, which was confirmed. The two announced this on social networks. Finally, in October 2015, the first preview of Faky's comeback was announced, with the information for a new group member named Akina . Finally, on October 21, they released the songs "Afterglow", "You" and "Candy".

Group member and leader Anna left the group in December 2018 to focus on her acting career. It was also announced that two new members, Hina and Taki, have been added and that the music group will continue with five from 2019.
