Falciano

Falciano is a town in the Castello Serravalle in the Republic of San Marino .

Falciano with around 1000 inhabitants is located in the far north of the republic at an altitude of 148 m above sea level. NN.

history

Falciano has been known as a largely rural area since the 14th century and was known for growing olive trees , vineyards, and cereals . The local church from the 14th century is dedicated to St. Peter. In 1957 the bell tower was renovated.

Economy and tourism

One of the most famous San Marino wineries, Le Bosch , is located in Falciano. The winery is also known as an agrotourism business . The largest local companies are the paint and varnish factory Colorificio Sammarinese SpA, founded in 1944, and the Bioscience Institute SpA, founded in 2007

In 1989 the entrepreneur Fabrizio Violati set up an automobile museum in Falciano, which contains an impressive collection of historic Ferrari vehicles and around 40 production models from the Abarth company . Museo Maranello Rosso is a tourist attraction in the town of Falciano.

Sports

The football club SS Folgore / Falciano currently plays in league group B of the San-Marinese football championship.
