Lists on the subject |
The Falcon is a Czech anti-materiel rifle developed by Zbrojovka Vsetín Inc. (ZVI) . The Bullpup rifle is intended for ground troops and special units for use against distant targets up to 1,600 m away, for example armored vehicles and technical equipment.
technology
The Falcon is a repeating rifle with a Mauser bolt system and two-shot magazine. Instead of the magazine, a protective cover can be attached so that the weapon functions as a single loader . The breech locks with two lugs in the barrel.
The tube and the housing are connected by a bayonet lock. A collapsible bipod is attached to the barrel, roughly in the middle of the total length of the weapon , on which a handle is also mounted. A muzzle brake is attached to the muzzle , which, according to the manufacturer, compensates for about 75% of the recoil of the large-caliber cartridge ammunition . The felt recoil is further dampened by a spring-loaded piston plate.
As a visor Meopta- can scope ZD 10 x 50 for the Tageinsatz and a Meopta- intensifier ZN 6 x to the change rail to be mounted. The residual light amplifier weighs 2.5 kg. A simple rear sight and front sight is available as a replacement sight in case the optical devices are destroyed . The weapon can be stowed in a transport bag for transport. A special backpack is available for skydiving units .
Versions
The weapon is made in two calibers:
- Soviet caliber 12.7 × 108 mm : OP 96 , OP 96 BÚ , OP 96N
- 12.7 × 99 mm NATO (.50 BMG): OP 99
The precision of the weapon depends heavily on whether normal machine gun ammunition or precision ammunition is used.
