Falk Stirkat

Falk Stirkat (* 1984 in the GDR ) is a German author and emergency doctor . He became known to a wide audience primarily through the Spiegel bestseller I came, saw and intubated .

Life

Stirkat was born in the GDR in 1984 as the son of a dentist couple. He spent his childhood in the small town of Greiz in Thuringia . He passed the Abitur at the “ Carl Zeiss Special School for Students with Mathematical and Natural Sciences ” in Jena . According to his own statements , he completed his medical studies at the medical faculty in Pilsen at the Charles University in Prague in 2010 as the best in his year with a grade of 1.0, after he was not admitted to medical studies at a German university because of the numerus clausus . After graduation, Stirkat moved to Erlangen to take up a position as an assistant doctor . This was followed by training periods in the emergency room and intensive care unit . In 2013, Stirkat passed his emergency doctor exam and has since worked as a freelance emergency doctor and in a general medical practice. His work also includes repatriating people who have had accidents abroad . Stirkat has not yet completed a specialist training.
