Falko Warmt
Falko Warmt (born December 8, 1938 in Gera ) is a German visual artist . As a sculptor , painter , draftsman and graphic artist, he works on gestural and figurative compositions.
Life
Born in Gera, he spent his childhood in Weimar . In 1955 he began his first self-taught attempts at painting. Later he was a student of Otto Müller in Halle (Saale) . This was followed by training as a chemical engineer in Halle, which he completed in 1963. In 1978 he gave up his learned profession and has lived in Berlin as a freelance artist since 1978 . In 1987 he exhibited for the first time in the gallery "Unter den Linden" in Berlin with a solo exhibition. From 1988 he stayed several times in Frankfurt am Main and in London , where he met AR Penck . Around 1990 he began with large-format material pictures made of Japanese paper and metamorphosis pictures made from material collages . From 1990 to 1995 he stayed several times in South Africa for study visits and temporarily lived in Cape Town . In 2000 he started the oil and material bidder series Argos and Janus heads in the form of iron sculptures and also the series “Flexman”. In 2003 Falko Warmt created the large-format series “PS Eilbriefe”. 2008 Works using runes and other signs, as well as a large number of Hesperides drawings. In 2012, the artistic examination of the poetics of the forest in connection with nature as well as iron sculptures made with found objects followed.
Falko Warmt lives with his family in Berlin.
