Familjen is the stage name of the Swedish techno and electropop musician Johan T. Karlson from Hässleholm .

biography

Karlson grew up in the Swedish community of Hässleholm , from which electronic musicians such as Andreas Tilliander and Stefan Thor also come. He currently lives in Malmö . In his childhood Karlson was a big fan of synth-pop and started some projects with Sophie Rimheden after he had already produced the indie rock band David & the Citizens .

He describes his own music as "indie techno":

I'm pretty fed up with guitar - Indie and techno can get a bit monotone after a while. ("I'm sick of the guitar - indie and techno can get a bit monotonous after a while.")

All lyrics are in Swedish or Skåne .

In October 2007, Familjen won the Rampmusic internet music competition . He received unexpected help from the file-sharing provider The Pirate Bay , who, without Karlson's knowledge, called on their website to vote for him.

In autumn 2014 Karlson took part in Så mycket bättre .
