Kai Abruszat
Kai Abruszat (born July 23, 1969 in Minden ) is a German politician ( FDP ). In 2010 and 2012 he entered the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia via the FDP state list . On September 13, 2015 Abruszat was elected mayor of the municipality of Stemwede .
Life
Abruszat made his Abitur in 1988 at the Ratsgymnasium in Minden. He then completed his basic military service with the Minden Pioneer Battalion. From 1989 Abruszat studied law at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster and then completed his legal clerkship (1994 to 1996) at the Bielefeld Regional Court , which he completed with the 2nd state legal examination. After initially working as a lawyer , he was elected 1st alderman at the city of Porta Westfalica in 2001 . In 2009 he was re-elected here. Abruszat is married and has two children.

Abruszat has been a member of the Presidium of the Association of Cities and Towns in North Rhine-Westphalia and of the regional council of the Detmold district government since 2005 . He is chairman of the FDP district association Minden-Lübbecke and a member of the state executive committee of the FDP in North Rhine-Westphalia. In the state elections in North Rhine-Westphalia in 2010 , he ran as a direct candidate in the state electoral district of Minden-Lübbecke II . He lost to Inge Howe (SPD), but was elected a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia via the state list of the FDP . In the 15th electoral term he was deputy chairman of the parliamentary interior committee and chairman of the executive committee of the legal committee.
After the dissolution of the state parliament, Abruszat ran again as a direct candidate in the state electoral district of Minden-Lübbecke II in the following new election on May 13, 2012 and was again elected member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia via the state list . In the 16th electoral term he was spokesman for the FDP parliamentary group in the committee for local politics and in the committee for budgetary control and at the same time also deputy chairman of the budgetary control committee.
Abruszat was a member of the 14th and 15th Federal Assemblies (Germany) , which elect the Federal President of the Federal Republic of Germany.
In January 2015 it became known that the Stemwede CDU community association intends to propose him for the election of the mayor of Stemwede in autumn 2015. Abruszat stood as a candidate for the FDP and CDU and won the mayoral election on September 13, 2015 in the first ballot with 56.8 percent of the vote.
On November 7, 2015, Kai Abruszat resigned from his state parliament mandate. Andreas Terhaag from Mönchengladbach moved up from the FDP state list.
