The Arroyo Ñaquiñá is a river in northern Uruguay .

The 47 kilometer long stream in the Artigas department rises in the range of hills known as Cuchilla Guaviyú , 20 kilometers northwest of the city of Baltasar Brum .

The stream, which initially drains to the northwest, is fed by around 30 small streams and tributaries that are used to irrigate the sugar cane plantations that predominate here .

Near the Estancia Passo Ñaquiñá , the national road 3 crosses the river on the way from Colonia Palma to the neighboring town of Lenguazo .

In the last four kilometers, west of the Estancia Paso de Los Algarrobos , the river changes its direction and turns south, at the same time another eleven streams flow into this section of the river. Just before the mouth of the Arroyo Ñaquiñá, the river passes a marshy alluvial forest with large pools of water and a lake and flows into the Río Uruguay from the left .
