Fanny Tacchinardi-Persiani

Fanny Tacchinardi-Persiani (born October 4, 1812 in Rome , † May 3, 1867 in Paris ) was an Italian opera singer ( coloratura soprano ).

Life

She was the daughter of the singer Niccolò Tacchinardi (1772-1859) and married to the composer Giuseppe Persiani . Her younger brother was the Florentine composer, music theorist and teacher Guido Tacchinardi (1840-1917).

At first she sang mostly in Florence . In 1832 she sang at the Teatro dell'Opera in Livorno and since then on all the major stages in Europe.

Gaetano Donizetti composed the title role of Pia de 'Tolomei and Lucia di Lammermoor for them in 1835 . From 1837 to 1848 she sang in Paris and London, and also traveled to Holland and Russia.
