Fanore
Fanore ( Irish Fánóir - the golden slope) is a village on the west coast of Ireland on the road between Ballyvaughan and Doolin in County Clare .
Fanore has an atypical sandy beach and sand dunes for Ireland. The village is located directly on the Burren karst area . The Caher River, the only river on the Burren that flows completely above ground through the Caher Valley , flows into the Atlantic Ocean here . To the north of the estuary are the rabbit burrows in a Stone Age Køkkenmøddinger (here called Shell or Kitchen Midden). The dunes of Fanore, Fisherstreet and Lahinch were already residential areas in Mesolithic times. This is not only indicated by the piles of rubbish, but also by artifacts such as tees , hatchets and hand axes .
