Farhad Moshiri (born May 18, 1955 in Iran ) is an Iranian-British billionaire and sports investor. His current residence is in the Principality of Monaco . Farhad Moshiri is in close business contact with the Russian oligarch Alisher Burchanovich Usmanov . They are jointly involved in several companies such as the mining and metallurgy company Metalloinwest or the mobile communications provider MegaFon . According to Forbes magazine, he is worth the equivalent of $ 2.4 billion. Moshiri achieved international fame in February 2016 when he joined the football club Everton FC as an investor .

life and career

Farhad Moshiri was born in Iran. His father was a doctor in the Iranian Army. Just before the Islamic Revolution broke out in 1979 , his family emigrated to Great Britain . In London, the young Moshiri trained as an accountant and studied economics and statistics at University College London .

Moshiri has worked for several well-known companies such as Ernst & Young and Deloitte . From 1998 to 2006 he was managing director at Metalloinwest, later he became head of the supervisory board.

Sports investments

Moshiri and his business partner Usmanov were co-owners of Red & White Holdings, which held 14.65% of the shares in Arsenal FC . In 2016, Moshiri sold his stake in Arsenal FC to join Everton FC with 49.9%. Moshiri had previously been in contact with the then majority owner Bill Kenwright for 18 months . On the takeover, Moshiri said, “There has never been a level playing field in the Premier League.
