The Farr Bay is an 11 km wide bay on the coast of the East Antarctic Queen Marie-country . It is located immediately east of the Helen Glacier .
The team from the West Base on the Australasian Antarctic Expedition (1911-1914) under the direction of the Australian polar explorer Douglas Mawson discovered them in November 1912. Mawson initially named them as Depot Bay . He later changed the name. The new namesake is Clinton Coleridge Farr (1866–1943), professor of physics at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand and member of the expedition committee.
