Fatima Maada Bio (born Jabbie ; born November 27, 1980 , Kono district ) is a Gambian - Sierra Leonean actress and, as the wife of the Sierra Leonean President Julius Maada Bio , the First Lady of Sierra Leone since the beginning of April 2018 .

Life

Fatima Maada Bio is the child of Tidankay Jabbie from Sierra Leone and the Gambier Umar Jabbe. Her mother comes from the Kono district , where her father worked as a businessman for a long time. Her maternal grandfather, Alhaji Marabou Jabbie, also came from Kono, her maternal grandmother, Isata Nabay from Segbwema in the district of Kailahun .

She grew up in Kono, where she attended the Ansarul Islamic School and later the St. Joseph Convent Secondary School in the capital, Freetown . She earned a bachelor's degree in the UK in the performing arts ( Performing Arts ) at the University of Roehampton and 2014 in journalism at the London College of Communication .

She subsequently worked as an actress in Nollywood films, for example in the fantasy adventure film The Mirror Boy (2011), and as a screenwriter and producer. 2013, it was among the African Oscars of Nollywood and African Film Critics Awards honored (NAFCA) for Best Actress.

She married the Sierra Leonean politician Julius Maada Bio in Great Britain in 2013 . Her husband had previously been married and divorced six years before his second marriage. On June 27, 2013, their son Hamza was born, who died three days after giving birth. On September 7, 2015, she had a daughter, who was named Amina after her paternal grandmother.

Since her husband received the most votes in the 2018 presidential election in Sierra Leone , she has been the First Lady of Sierra Leone since the beginning of April 2018 .
