Fatima Moumouni

Fatima Moumouni (* 1992 in Munich ) is a spoken word poet , columnist and presenter.

Act

Since the end of 2011 she has been on the road with spoken word pieces in theaters and on various stages, especially in German-speaking countries. She has also made a number of appearances abroad, including appearances in Togo , Ghana , Brazil , Mexico and Singapore . She writes prose, poetry and rap for the stage. In addition to solo appearances, she also appears together with the slam poet Laurin Buser in the “Zum Goldenen Schmied” team. Since 2019 they have had a joint evening program called GOLD . Moumouni has been a columnist for the Swiss street magazine Surprise since 2015 and was nominated for the “Columnist of the Year” award in the industry journal “Schweizer Journalist” in 2019. Moumouni can also be seen regularly on television in cabaret and literature programs, including the programs SRF Literaturklub, Pufpaffs Happy Hour , Vereinsheim and the ZDF Poetry Slam .

In the 2018/2019 season, Fatima Moumouni had her own talk series at the Theater am Neumarkt in Zurich called “The End of Security”. She studied ethnology and economics at the University of Zurich . Since the end of 2015 she has been giving discourse awareness and anti-racism workshops with a focus on language together with spoken word artist Dean Ruddock .

Moumouni lives in Zurich .

Awards

In 2012 she won the Bavarian poetry slam championships in the U20 category and was U20 runner-up in the German-speaking championships. In 2016 she was in the final of the German-language poetry slam championships .

In 2019 she won the team competition with Laurin Buser at the German-language championships in poetry slam in Berlin, after having already achieved third place three years earlier.
